The new Miss Universe has been crowned!!
Last night the stunning Roz Purcell handed over her glitzy crown and silk sash to Miss Spin Southwest, Aoife Hannon.
The 19-year-old Listowel native beat off some tough competition last night. Miss Naas Court Hotel Hannah Devane had been tipped to win the title over the last few weeks, Aoife was at a 16/1 odds on betting website PaddyPower.com, so it definitely was a surprise!
But the slender brunette looked stunning on the catwalk, with her boyfriend of three years, Jason Brow, cheering her on all night. The winner is now taking a year break from her course in the University of Limerick. The football enthusiast will take a year off from her degree in Law and Irish.

Hannah was runner up last night, which is also a great achievement, and then the second runner up, my personal favourite was Miss Irish Sun Kate McDaid. I thought her look was very striking, her face reminded me of Roz's look, so I am shocked she didn't take this year's crown.
Presenting last night's contest was the gorgeous Lisa Cannon and TV3's Alan Hughes. Xpose presenter Lisa looked super slim last night, admitting to me that she lost a lot of weight since splitting with her boyfriend a few weeks ago, "It's the break-up diet" she joked.
